Parker & Lynch is partnering with a reputable mortgage company in adding a remote Government Underwriter III to their team. Ideal candidate will have 4+ years of mortgage underwriting experience, with equal exposure to both conventional loans and government loans. DE is required, and VA LAPP/SAR is a plus.  This is a full-time, direct hire role.


Job Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

  • Analyze and evaluate loan risk of Conventional, FHA, and VA loans
  • Ensure loan file documentation meets investor, agency, and program guidelines
  • Evaluate income, assets, and title documentation
  • Review and deliver credit decisions per appropriate program eligibility guidelines
  • Review and clear conditions as needed (within established timelines)
  • Respond, as needed, to Post-Closing findings


  • 4+ years of mortgage underwriting experience (with a mix of both Conventional loans and government loans)
  • FHA DE is required
  • Advanced knowledge of FHA, VA, FNMA, and FHLMC loan programs and requirements
  • VA LAPP/SAR is a plus
  • Experience with Encompass (LOS) is preferred
  • Experience with DU and LP is preferred
  • Experience with USDA loans is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment
