Parker + Lynch Technology is in search of a Cyber Security Analyst in Chicagoland. Applicants should have a demonstrated history of using cybersecurity tools to proactively search for threats to systems or networks. This role also requires you to conduct network defense analysis and provide recommendations for improvements. The Cyber Security Analyst will also collaborate with peers and stakeholders to generate best practices for the prioritization of security events.

 

Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Threat hunting through monitoring, reporting, threat intelligence, and discovery analysis.
  • Thoroughly investigate security incidents and perform comprehensive analysis of forensic images, network traffic and host-based alerts as needed.
  • Ensuring problems are efficiently resolved from initial reporting to resolution.
  • Managing incident escalated by the level 1 analyst and conduct a deeper investigation on security events.

    Job Qualifications

    The ideal candidate will have:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science or in related field
  • Certificate: Advanced Cyber and/ or networking related certificate (desired)
  • 3 to 5 years in Cybersecurity
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and knowledge. General knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint preferred.
