POSITION SUMMARY 

The Data Analyst will collect, manage, validate, analyze and report data to serve and support grant evaluation, reporting and application. The analysis should also be useful to clinical staff and leaders in making business decisions. Improvement in the quality of care in all member clinics is the main goal.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESULTS

Below are usual examples of the essential functions and work performed by a Data Analyst. These are not intended to be interpreted as an all-inclusive list of all the responsibilities, tasks and duties. Other duties may be performed as assigned. Study Design, Data Analyses and Report

• Validate and understand data from various sources.

• Perform complex statistical tests and data manipulation set-ups.

• Look after the member clinics and CHCN by evaluating and designing programs through statistical support.

• Use data to answer business questions.

• Outline or tweak user-friendly data directory for non-technical staff to perform data entry.

• Create and automate meaningful and complex reports for clinical personnel to use in clinical practices and leaders to make business decisions.

• Put written materials together such as various procedures, program documentation, policies, special and periodic reports, informational publications and correspondences to be distributed to both funders and clinics.

• Support cross-training and department continuity by creating  work related correspondence and documents. When necessary, provide support to the Analytics Coordinator Position.

• Assist in the coordination of QM exercises among clinics like patient satisfaction surveys, QM meetings, audits, etc.

• Deliver the CHCN pay results intended to improve clinics’ performance program.

• Assist by providing technical support to clinics HIPAA Designated Access..

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (NONE)

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES

• Able to independently answer business questions and perform suitable analysis using solid statistics knowledge.

• Able to deliver quality work product consistently on due dates with minimum supervision.

• Eager to take responsibility and ownership of tasks.

• Previous experience using data visualization/analysis tools like SAS Visual Analytics, Power BI, Tableau and Excel.

• Data manipulation using Excel, ACCESS and SQL and relational database knowledge.

• Experience using statistical software and programming like SAS, STATA and Python.

• Able to effectively communicate with various audiences through good verbal and written communication skills.

• Can adopt new knowledge, skills and methods quickly and highly motivated.

• Able to receive, give constructive feedback and work in a team.

 

Essential Requirements

• Experience using SAS, SQL, STATA or Python to manage massive data and strong programming skills.

• Experience with electronic health records, public health data and health insurance claims.

• Healthcare system experience

 

CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES

• Master’s preferred, Bachelor’s degree required (Statistics, Business Intelligence or Data analytics desirable)

• Auto insurance and valid CA Driver’s license to be able to travel to different clinic locations
