    Data Scientist

    We are looking for a data scientist that will lead the exploration and analysis of the rich data sets powering and created by our Virtual Reality wellness and therapeutics programs, and help us make smarter decisions to deliver even better, more engaging experiences. Your primary focus will be in data wrangling, applying data mining techniques, performing statistical analysis, and building high quality prediction systems integrated with our products. Specific use cases will include identifying and closing gaps in data capture opportunities or quality, analyzing patient engagement and program utilization, building models to predict improvements in program engagement and clinical outcomes, and working with our clinical, product and engineering teams to integrate automated scoring of these machine learning models to operational systems.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    - Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques

    - Data mining using state-of-the-art methods

    - Extending our data with third party sources of information when needed

    - Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems

    - Processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis

    - Performing ad-hoc analysis and presenting results in a clear manner

    - Creating automated anomaly detection systems and constant tracking of its performance

     

    Skills and Qualifications

     

    - Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.

    - Experience with common data science toolkits and languages, such as Python, Pandas, NumPy, R, SciKit Learn, Tensorflow, SQL. Excellence in at least one of these is highly desirable

    - Great communication skills

    - Experience with data visualization tools, such as D3.js, GGplot, etc.

    - Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Cassandra, HBase

    - Good applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression, etc.

    - Good scripting and programming skills including C#, Python, R

     

    Qualifications

  • Master's or PhD degree or equivalent experience in quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, etc.)
  • At least 1 - 2 years' of experience in quantitative analytics or data modeling
  • Deep understanding of predictive modeling, machine-learning, clustering and classification techniques, and algorithms
  • Fluency in a programming language (Python, C,C++, Java, SQL)
  • Familiarity with Big Data frameworks and visualization tools (Cassandra, Hadoop, Spark, Tableau)
