A company in the US providing consulting services in energy and sustainability is looking to hire an IT Manager to support the management of the department's day-to-day functions. This position reports to the CTO and will work with employees in Norwalk, Washington, and New York offices. (The position will work primarily from the New York, NY office)

 

The ideal candidate should be a critical thinker with excellent problem solving and time management skills.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and deployment of new IT systems and other large IT projects. 
  • Analyze business needs with key stakeholders across the company to develop solutions.
  • Define and deliver strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Coordinate resources and timetables with user departments in completing projects.
  • Determine cost levels, monitor performance of IT systems, and create recommendations for IT infrastructure improvement.
  • Assist heading projects in internal software development.
  • Evaluate vendors and create test strategies for new software and hardware.
  • Supervise the help desk ticket management system and manage the day-to-day IT workflow of 3 IT help desk technicians.
  • Initiate, organize, and enforce systems, procedures, and policies.
  • Recruit, select, and train employees.
  • Oversee compliance and cybersecurity.
  • Preserve assets by implementation of disaster recovery/backup procedures and information security and control structures.
  • Maintain technical and professional knowledge by reviewing professional publications, attending workshops, and etc.

    Job skill requirements:

  • Degree in Information Technology/Systems, Computer Science, or related field/experience
  • 5 to 8 years experience working in IT operations
  • Experience in leading large IT projects and deployment of IT infrastructures across different technologies
  • Able to communicate highly technical and specialized info to different audiences
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, network and systems  administration, databases and data storage systems, security, and phone systems
  • Certification in Project Management, Product or System is highly preferred
  • Software development skills
  • Excellent project management, multitasking, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Credibility, confidence, maturity, and integrity
