IT Support Engineer  

A global leader in the media industry is looking to hire an IT Support Engineer to manage both application and desktop solutions to meet the organization’s business needs. This role involves working with other IT staff members in order to solve user support issues. In addition, the Support Engineer will manage the planning through the implementation phase of projects. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, proficient in a Mac-centric environment, reliable, focused and responsive.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for both remote and local staff needing technical assistance via email, in person or over the phone.
  • Carry out remote troubleshooting through pertinent questions and diagnostic strategies.
  • Provide continuous training and education to non-technical users.
  • Report unresolved issues to the personnel who handles escalations
  • Configure steps and document installation clearly.
  • Fix asset, inventory and management oversight of all hardware and software, deploy and test packages for Windows/Mac stations.
  • Communicate with other IT personnel and vendors for problem resolution.
  • Configure directories, services, storage, settings and peripherals as well as rebuild existing and install new Macs and PCs.
  • Coordinate and organize activities related to the deployment, upgrade and installation of Apple and PC hardware, network facilities, and video/voice.    
  • REQUIREMENTS:  

  • BA/BS degree in Computer Science, IT or similar field
  • 4-5 years experience as a computer service technician
  • Familiarity with Windows and proven experience troubleshooting in a huge Mac-based environment
  • Proficiency in supporting applicable services and Mac-based platform
  • Knowledgeable of office databases, remote control and automation products
  • In-depth knowledge of user-interfacing solutions such as mobile devices and workstations
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to problem resolution and identification
  • Exceptional communication skills
