We are looking for a motivated Data Engineer to join our growing Data Science Team. The hire will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline architecture, as well as optimizing data warehousing from various sources. The ideal candidate is an experienced data pipeline builder and data wrangler who enjoys optimizing data systems and building them from the ground up. The Data Engineer will support our data science initiatives/products and support the data plumbing that feeds into our ML systems.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acquire, organize, store, and analyze raw data
  • Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and support data infrastructure needs including ML data pipelines
  • Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements including process automation, optimizations, and improvements in scalability
  • Support and expand existing infrastructure for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and Azure technologies
  • Build and maintain monitoring utilities and metrics to ensure data quality and operation of production systems
  • Support occasional ad hoc SQL queries
  • Perform such other/additional duties as may from time to time be assigned.
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPENTENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases
  • Experience building and optimizing big data pipelines, architectures, and data sets
  • Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured and semi-structured datasets
  • A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large datasets
  • Experience with building dashboards (e.g. PowerBI)
  • Experience with workflow management tools
  • Working knowledge of ML models and data requirements
  • Azure services and DevOps experience a plus
  • Performs work under minimal supervision
  • Experience with large scale NLP a plus
  • Experience with data anonymization technologies a plus
  • 2+ years' experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS/ETL, and scripting stored procedures
  • 2+ years experience with Python or R
  • EDUCATION:

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. Master’s degree in quantitative field a plus.
