The primary purpose of the IT Systems Manager is to lead and coordinate all IT operations across DRI. This role will work with DRI leadership, user community and key vendors and partners to provide DRI with coordinated and reliable IT services. This role is a working manager role, in that in addition to the IT leadership role, will also perform day-to-day desktop support, radiology systems support and support of key partner provided systems such as Microsoft 365 and the RIS (radiology information system) platform. The ideal candidate will have project management skills, ability to work with the DRI executive team and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the DRI team. Prior IT experience in the healthcare and radiology industry is required.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

· Lead and coordinate IT activities across DRI sites and locations.

· Provide hands-on desktop support including support of desktops, laptops, printers, etc.

· Provide front-line IT support for all DRI IT issues.

· Develop strong working relationship with partners and vendors to cooperatively provide the DRI daily radiology solutions.

· Work with DRI executive leadership, affiliate teams and vendor representatives to define requirements for strategic DRI initiatives.

· Provide project management for key IT projects, coordinating resources across GI, vendors and partners.

· Provide RIS administration in conjunction with the partner RIS team.

· Provide front line IT support for all IT and radiology IT solutions including second level support when possible.

· Assist in installation and configuration of applications, workstations and peripherals.

· Assess the feasibility of proposed new product features and integration with standard applications.

· Implement and support workflows and conduct front end training

· Assist with installation and set-up of radiology modalities that connect to the PACS systems.

· Understand different modalities in radiology to ensure correct image presentation to the clinicians.

· Understand other clinical and financial information systems that integrate with radiology systems to troubleshoot interfaces between systems.

· Work closely with customers to identify and resolve problems, following through to ensure final resolution.

· Communicate status of incidents and problems.

· Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the client application(s) design and use; continue to increase knowledge as the product functionality is changed or enhanced.

· Interface with PACS, modality, Advanced Visualization and other solutions vendors to implement solutions and troubleshoot system issues in a timely manner.

· Support read stations and diagnostic monitors located at DRI sites by providing testing, configuration, installation, and maintenance as needed.

· Promote a culture that reflects the organization’s values, encourages good performance, and enhances productivity.

· Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Communication Skills: To successfully accomplish the essential duties of this job, one must be able to read, analyze and interpret general business information and correspondence, including regulations, manuals, reports and professional journals. He/she must be able to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals, as well as present and communicate complex information and data to others effectively.

Reasoning Ability: Most of the work performed in this role requires one to be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions, along with interpreting an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and dealing with several abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibility of Errors: Failure to monitor and protect systems could result in incorrect patient data or images that could lead to misdiagnosis and unfavorable patient experience. Loss of reputation and revenue could be a substantial consequence, depending on the scope of a particular circumstance.

Confidential Data: This position has high level access to confidential data pertaining to patients. Failure to safeguard the aforementioned could negatively impact the company significantly, as the company could be liable for HIPAA violations and other related infringements.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions: The flow of work and character of duties involve remaining in a seated stationary position and performing keyboard operations constantly; communicating with internal and external customers frequently; and moving/traversing about the office or remaining in an upright stationary position on an occasional basis. Additionally, the person in this role may seldom climb stairs or position oneself as necessary to access resources pertinent to one’s desk/computer/files. Visual attention is necessary because frequent near acuity for computer usage is required. The person in this role needs to be able to detect smells for safety-related purposes on occasion. Intermittently, this position will require working near moving mechanical parts with risk of electrical shock and radiation. The position also requires an individual to be able to transport a laptop computer, equipment and files weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.

Moderate noise associated with a typical work environment (computers, printers, and light traffic) is characteristic for this job.

Character and Scope of Supervision: The position by its nature and scope is broadly subjected to functional policies and goals, as well as general managerial direction. In this working role, the individual is solely responsible for his or her own work and does not have any direct reports.

Education and Experience:

Job duties require an Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Healthcare applications experience of 2 to 4 years. At least 2 years of experience providing desktop and user support in a Microsoft environment, healthcare preferred. Expert computer proficiency is required in this role. Direct Imaging experience with PACS and RIS required. Experience with Voice Recognition software and Mammography Reporting Systems.
