Litigation and Compliance Counsel will advise on all legal aspects of claims, litigation and compliance matters related to the business of Healthpeak Properties or its subsidiaries. Primary duties will include:


- Advising on and assisting with a diverse range of pre-litigation, litigation, and compliance-related matters involving virtually every aspect of Healthpeak’s operations
- Managing outside counsel and coordinating with Risk Management on all claims and litigation and providing guidance to internal business partners on defense strategy and settlement decisions
- Establishing internal claims and litigation best practices
- Drafting, managing and maintaining internal litigation management forms, training, tools and resources
- Reporting claim status and settlement information to Healthpeak’s Asset Management and Senior Executive teams

- Reviewing settlement agreements, discovery, pleadings and related documents
- Attending mediations, arbitrations and settlement conferences, as needed
- Coordinating with Asset Management on landlord/tenant disputes, evictions, collections, condemnations and tenant bankruptcies
- Assisting with other claims and litigation related duties, as required
- Developing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining Healthpeak’s compliance program
- Assisting with the integration of Healthpeak’s compliance program into its operations
- Coordinating resources to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the compliance program
- Assisting with or presenting periodic reports on the operation of the compliance program to the Board of Directors and Senior Executive team
