Parker + Lynch is seeking a Human Recourses Manager in Las Vegas, NV. The Human Resources Manager is responsible for maintaining, developing and administering all phases of human resources, recognizing the slight variations among the companies many branches. In addition will be working directly with and backing up Payroll Manager. Must have comfortable with Paylocity and Navigator. There are 200 employees. They include hourly, salaried and commission employees.

This role will handle all team member relations- enhancing the team member experience by planning, implementing, and evaluating all policies, programs, and practices. HR Manager will proactively partner with the Executive Team to provide support in helping them accomplish business goals. Additionally, this position will oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR office; maintaining procedures and policy for all company personnel.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the Human Resources department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems in coordination with management, and recommends necessary changes. Oversees the HRIS with employee information and maintains confidentiality as provided for.

2. Updates, writes and rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys analyzes compensation; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.

3. Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbooks, policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, COBRA notification, 401k plan enrollment, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost effectiveness, information activities program, and opportunities for improvements.

4. Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

5. Participates in the Safety committee. Files workers compensation claims, manages cases and outstanding claims, return to duty program, and recommends preventive action. Manages the leave of absence, FMLA, programs, ensuring appropriate documentation is received and arrangements are made for benefits payments.

6. Responsible for assisting the processing of all payrolls, for each company. Issue and processes wage garnishments, final checks, voluntary and involuntary deductions/terminations, taxable vs nontaxable income. Ensures periodic reports of earnings, taxes and deductions are maintained and prepared, as required.

7. Conducts recruitment efforts for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; writes and places advertisements, ensures required processing, background checks and drug tests are satisfactorily complete. Conducts new-employee orientations, employee relations counseling, employee development, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.

8. Provides advice, problem resolution, and counsel to both team members and leaders to help them achieve their goals while maintaining compliance in policies and procedures. Conducts and participates in administrative/staff scheduled meetings to ensure lines of communication are open between management, team members and vendor reps.

9. Organizes and prepares training to assist employees with information about their benefits plans, areas of responsibilities, and to identify critical areas to introduce changes or improvement.

10. Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. Responsible for coordinating and/or preparing responses to OSHA, Dept of Labor or other official inquiries on behalf of the companies. Will ensure all companies maintain legal compliance to Federal and state regulations.

11. Displays a positive attitude towards team members to help promote a positive culture.

12. Performs other duties as assigned or as may be presented during routine operations, special events or circumstances. Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration or related field of study (HR certification or training along with equivalent related experience is considered). 2-5 Years recent experience in Human Resources or related field. Management experience is essential. Must demonstrate initiative, the ability to think and take constructive action to work independently; skill and ability in taking the lead in forward-thinking and implementation of new ideas or work methods. Must be well versed in benefits administration, employee relations matters, leave programs, and legal compliance. Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, highly organized, dependable and self-motivated. Strong oral and written communication with excellent business interpersonal skills to give direction and perform well in a fast-paced and high-pressured environment. Must demonstrate initiative, the ability to think critically, to give and receive constructive criticism, and to take the lead in implementation of new ideas or work methods. Ability to work a flexible schedule if necessary and work independently as well as in a team. Must have the ability to maintain a professional demeanor with conflicting demands and sometimes stressful situations. Strong computer skills and knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint software programs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Time is often spent in a sedentary position, however, regular commuting of short distances between warehouse and store locations may be required. During these trips there is exposure to inclement weather conditions, heat and normal traffic congestion. Required to lift light-weight objects.
