Parker + Lynch is seeking a Project Engineer to join our client’s SES Team. The SES team provides support to functional teams and customers on engineering related requests and develop customize engineering solutions starting from business opportunity stage (pre-sale). Engineering expertise which needs to be localized and customized to suit the customer’s need. Support that includes (not limited to) Pre-Sale line layout concept drawings, customize engineering solutions, determining sales price, vendor management, engineering drawings and BOM.

Primary Job Functions

  • Work with sales and clients to identify project requirements, discuss site-specific issues, and formalize sales proposals.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations/drawings/line concept and explaining products or services to existing and prospective customers.
  • Meet with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and provide sales support.
  • Design components and mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks and other software to meet customer specific requirements while taking into consideration cost and ease of manufacture.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to generate pre-sale Conceptual Line Layout drawings
  • Support clients solve problems with installed equipment.
  • Support internal customers in project management, engineering, and field service
  • Recommend improved materials or machinery to customers, showing how changes will lower costs or increase production.
  • Support R&D in developing new products.
  • Proposed design solutions with engineering analysis.
  • Help sales to establish sales price and deliverables.
  • Assist the greater organization with legacy technical information.
  • Document and release engineered solutions including part drawings, assembly drawings, plant layouts, and bills of materials.
  • Support manufacturing from design through final testing including fabrication, assembly, and installation.
  • Produce technical documentation including design analysis reports, assembly installation procedures, and engineering change notice/requests.
  • Collaborate with purchasing group and suppliers to provide sourcing solutions to meet design requirements.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP system to ensure materials are available for production and parts are available for delivery to customer site.
  • Assist project management group with organizing, scheduling, and allocating resources and field service personnel.
  • Assist and or direct on-site service personnel to ensure components, assemblies, and complete machines are installed in accordance with design and schedule.
  • Investigate equipment failures and diagnose faulty operational procedures and communicate failure items to all appropriate teams including project managers, manufacturing engineers, service, and sales.
  • Work with the sales team to determine the best product and layout to meet our customer’s needs.
  • Conduct customer site visits and evaluate their line and requirements.
  • Create concept line layouts to show the customer the best way to integrate the equipment.
  • Help to identify specials that are required for the customers line and application and collaborate with the functional teams on a solution to meet the customer’s need.
  • Work with customer project management team on the transition from sales to project, and to be a resource to the project management team to facilitate a timely conclusion to the project.
  • Help facilitate a smooth transition from the sales process to the customer project management process.
  • Help project management and SASE team on special requirements, technical information regarding the application and mechanical setup.
  • Help the project management team on post commissioning issues to meet our customers’ expectations in a timely manner.

  • High Level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, internally and externally to the company
  • Intermediate/advanced computing knowledge of MS Excel, basic MS Suites and internet software and computer hardware.
  • Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience Project Engineering and planning.
  • Experience with mechanical, electrical, and manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience in deploying new processes.
  • Fresh and processed food industry experience is preferred but is not a requirement.
  • Experience using general PC skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and other marketing or presentation software applications (especially PowerPoint and Adobe Suite).
  • Self-starter and autonomous disposition, need for minimal supervision, ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Experienced user of CAD software (SolidWorks an AutoCAD)

    Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or other related discipline required
